In the city of Osaka there’s a special place known to those in the know. We in the Kelly family remember it fondly: Rod Stewart Alley. A place where Japanese boys can go to congregate in groups on summer nights and look cool by wearing Rod Stewart’s hairstyle and Members Only jackets. A place where everybody can reflect on the splendor of Rod Stewart in his prime.

(The only time I ever saw Rod Stewart in the flesh, he was past his prime, but still. He turned up mid-game in the loge at Shea Stadium during a midweek Mets night game. I was unaccompanied at the ballpark, as I recall, and suddenly Rod Stewart is two seats away and everybody’s busting out their cameraphones. It really was him. Leathery man, shuffling like an old ex-bantamweight fighter. But cheerful, relaxed: an old punter...I'm using that Englishism rightly, yes?...yeah, it was like Tom Waits had turned up at a cricket match.)

Anyhow I was reminded of Rod Stewart Alley by this awesome scroll of photos on Today’s Winner’s blog. More rock stars should take and share pictures of what they see when they’re on their way to and from the bathroom.
