Q-Tip! Q-Tip! Q-Tip! Much as I love his voice on vinyl, I’d very much like to see Today’s Winner act a bit more. He was good in that awful Spike Lee sperm donor movie. Deft comic timing.

1970 is truly the annus mirabilis of hip-hop. Big second-place shoutout to runner-up Psycho Les of the Beatnuts. Not actually sure where he was born, but I’m giving credit to his neighborhood growing up, with its very strong Colombian presence. Can’t wait for the World Cup to get here. Only a few more weeks now.
