It’s Labor Day, an appropriate moment to honor the one who has had the greatest variety of jobs. In the three productions he (or perhaps she?) has worked on, Today’s Winner has been tasked with makeup, props, costumes, sound, and set decoration, as well as whatever was entailed by that evergreen catch-all title, production assistant. Here’s a toast to everyone born this year who was willing to do or try anything to get his or her name in the credits.

  1. For what it's worth, there's also me, Gabe Phipps. I've worked all manner of jobs - starting when I was 9 years old - from dishwasher to teacher and then some.
