Likewise, I’d like to single out Sonia Hell for having a cool name.


But the winner today is the curious case of Ronald de Boer. He was the slightly less awesome of the two awesome Dutch soccer-playing de Boer twins of the 1990s. It must be an odd road to be that good at what you do, yet have your twin brother be generally understood to be ever so slightly better. Sports is one arena where this phenomenon can be measurably detected (the Collinses and Lopezes of the NBA, for example). Politics is another. It will be very interesting to see how the career of Jarosław Kaczyński proceeds from here. In the wake of his brother’s death he probably can’t lose, but can he govern?
