The bronze medal today goes to Judd Winick, because he’s kind of the ultimate reality show contestant, for at least four reasons I can think of. One, he’s from a very early instance of the form, “The Real World: San Francisco”, which I believe was the program’s second season. Two, his ambition to be a comic book creator, which he appears to have succeeded at, is a classic type of thing for a reality show participant to be striving for. Three, the season he was on was one that people who didn’t follow the show actually remember, because he shared the house with the AIDS activist Pedro Zamora. Fourth, he married his “Real World” housemate Dr. Pam Ling, and they are actually still together.

The silver goes to Anastacia C. Nemec, which is fitting, because her most frequently recurring credit is second second assistant director. Like off-off-off-Broadway, or a second cousin by marriage twice removed.

Today’s gold medal Winner is Ugo Serrano. First off, awesome name. Sounds like a debonair thug in a grainy Morricone-scored caper. Even more awesome, he’s a costume designer, specializing specifically in armor and helmets. Like, often, his credit in the movie will just simply be “Helmets: Ugo Serrano”. That’s just dope.
