I gave up trying to summarize what Todd Fischer’s primary accomplishments are, or figuring out what he wants to be known for; he’s kind of like his fictional namesake Max in that regard.Another namesake, the pitcher Todd Fischer (born 15 September 1960 in Columbus, Ohio) holds the extremely charming distinction of having once caused his team to lose a major league game in which he did not throw a pitch.(How could that happen, you ask?Scroll down for the answer.)
Lawrence Sher is responsible for the squeaky clean look of some bigtime recent comedies; his career is clearly going places.
But the Winner for today is Gabrielle Anwar.I guess she’s been working steadily in the UK for years. To me she was little remembered since her turn opposite a blind tango-dancing Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman.I guess any actress could have gone toe-to-toe with Pacino and he’d have still gotten his “oh, alright, already!” Oscar. But Gabrielle comported herself deftly.Recently reemerged as the female lead in the USA Network’s “Burn Notice”.My wife and I are in agreement that she looks a little older than forty today. Though not necessarily in a bad way.
(Side note: Martin Brest: what the hell happened there? That’s a Ciminoesque collapse.)
Answer: With a man on third, he warmed up, and promptly balked.
