The thing that the Anvil movie builds to is so satisfying when it happens that you don’t even care how contrived it is as an ending. Today’s Winner and the director, Sacha Gervasi, may have been the only people who believed that that was a story that needed to be told in the first place. But it was, and Sacha did, and the world is a better place for it.


Today’s Winner, too, has a blog. It’s the classic seldom-update, Andy Rooney-esque irked-by-the-world type of thing, and as an exemplar of its type, it’s kind of awesome.
